Pictures of me

Hello faithful readers, I have had a bit of a think. I realize that I have been reading blogs of, and making friends with, more and more people that I am not related to. And I have realized that most of these people I have never actually met in person.

Now I must admit that I have very few pictures of myself and even fewer than I would want to share on my blog.

For some reason I can look in the mirror and I actually look pretty good to myself, but,,,,,BUT,, If I happen to see a picture of myself, all of my preconcieved notions of what I look like vanish immediately.

Why is that?

Why do we always look better to ourselves in a mirror, than we do in pictures. Or is it just possible that it is just me? Hmm, now THAT bears some thinking about. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid. Alright here I go running off at the mouth (or I guess the keyboard.)

Anyway, here is my point.

I really like the new people I have been meeting through my blog. And I feel like I kinda know them. What helps is that I can see what they look like. I realized that to the people that read my blog , those of course that I didn't give birth to, or that haven't married someone I gave birth to, or that I'm not related to and see at least once a year at the Mathews Family Christmas Party, may have a slightly easier time relating to me if they knew what I look like.

Of course there is one solution to this.

Simply send them all air fair to fly to Kennewick and meet me in person?

Great idea.

But, as it turns out I'm a few bucks short. What can I say? Blame the high price of gas. So of course I had to come up with plan B.

Put a picture of me on my blog.

Yeah, YEAH, so crazy it just might work. There were a few roadblocks to this though. A: I haven't learned how to do pictures. and B: I have problems putting pictures of myself on here for everyone to see. And then I had my bit of a think (like I mentioned earlier) and I just decided nuh, what the hell?

So at my uncle Richards cabin, which is where I was this weekend I had my daughter Heidi take some pictures of me. Heidi is a really talented photographer.

She also took the pictures down at the bottom of my two granddaughters Abbey and Lindsay in their white dresses that I made them. Cute huh? We managed to get a few pictures that I found acceptable and then Lisa my daughter-in-law showed me how to put them up. So now I am using up an entire post to explain the fact that there are now pictures of me on my blog. Waste of time?

I THINK NOT.

Oh, and a major P.S. We have had the most fantastic Fourth of July at my Uncle Richard's two cabins on Lake Mason (That would be South of Seattle) and I am going to write all about it on, oh, probably Monday.Until then GOOD THOUGHTS!

I'm really happy you had a great 4th!

Those pictures of you turned out GREAT! I love them! But I understand the whole you look better in a mirror, than you do in pictures, I have the same problem.

Have a good night!

I told my hubby that if I died while my kids were little, they wouldn't remember what I look like because there are virtually NO pictures of me. (He was upset by that for many reasons) I totally understand & I LOVE the pictures.

THAT'S where I get it from! You know, the whole not wanting pictures taken of me. There's so few pictures of me (yes I know, because I wouldn't let anyone take a picture of me, I admit it's my fault) that it's amusing when I actually DO find pictures of myself.

Unless KaTrina is in town, then there's going to be a lot of pictures of me :P

Hey I thought that you were going to ask your new best Aussie friend Mandy to let Lisa and I read her blog. Get on that mom, if her blog is as spicy as her comments, then it must be a great read.

I'll just have to say that for those wanting to see MORE of Susan, I got a TON of pictures of her - including one while she was writing this post - from last night's post-4th party at my house.

Last night Susan sang Karaoke for the first time.

It did not disappoint.

Video and pictures will be posted as soon as I get them assembled...

**evil grin**

It was SO nice to have you visit Sue!! You guys HAVE TO come again soon!
